Reflection:
From the 2 semesters of Clinical Correlations, I learned a lot and was able to step out of my comfort zone and work in a group to get the history of the patient to develop a broad differential diagnosis. In the first semester, I had trouble asking the right questions to narrow the diagnosis. However, as I had more and more sessions I was able to learn the efficient way to ask questions to come up with an appropriate list of differentials.
I learned that a good history and physical exam is the most important thing to diagnose the patient. Before this class, I would immediately think of what imaging/labs to order right after I heard the chief complaint. I learned that a lot of times you can get a list of differentials and a sense of what you believe the diagnosis most likely is even before ordering imaging or labs. This was my biggest takeaway from these two semesters of Clinical Coorelations.
