PANCE Prep Plan:
I developed my PANCE Prep Plan after reviewing my EOC and PACKRAT scores and identifying my strengths and weaknesses. Since I am in my Psych rotation, I began my schedule by reviewing the Psych section in Pance Prep Pearls starting on 11/18. I gave myself about a week to go through PPP and do the Rosh questions that I usually complete for each rotation to prepare for the EOR. This will allow me to prep for both the EOR and the psych section on the Pance. After completing the Psych portion, I moved on to my weaknesses on the EOC and plan on reviewing PPP and doing 60 UWorld questions for each section. I plan to do MSK on 11/25, Endocrine on 11/29, Derm on 12/03, ID on 12/09, Heme on 12/13, EENT on 12/17, Reproductive on 12/22, Neuro on 12/26, CV on 12/30, Pulm on 01/06, and finally GI on 01/13. I plan to give myself a week for the topics that are worth the most: Cardio, Pulm, and GI. I also gave myself 6 days to review any weaker areas after going through all the material. This allows me to rearrange my schedule by 1-2 days if a section requires more time.
When reviewing the topics on PPP, I plan to go through the pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, labs and imaging, and management of the disease. After completing my questions for the day, I will review any specific topics I am still having difficulty with by watching videos or utilizing pictures/diagrams as this has been beneficial for me throughout PA school. If I get time on the weekends, I also may try to review topics that are challenging with my colleagues. I also plan to take 3 Mock PANCE exams to see how I am doing in terms of preparation, but also to get my mind and body used to sitting for a 5 hour exam.
