My site evaluation for this rotation was with Professor Maida and I learned a lot from it. We had a mid and final site evaluation and had around 2 weeks in between which was longer than the time I had between my previous site evaluations. This allowed me to take my feedback from the mid site evaluation and use it towards my final site evaluation. In the mid site evaluation I had to write 2 H&Ps and present one of them, 5 drug cards, and bring the procedure log. This site was different from my previous ones because my group was quizzes on each others pharm cards. This was challenging but also made us feel more comfortable with other drugs. We were able to learn more about not only our own drug cards but our group members also. In the final site visit I presented another H&P, 5 more drug cards, and a journal article on perforation rates of appendicitis in children due to delay in getting to the OR. Overall, feedback from Professor Maida was great and he said to add more information regarding social history such as if the child attends school and if so how are they performing in school.
