Site Evaluation

My Site Evaluation for Internal Medicine was a great learning experience. It consisted of presenting one H&P on my first visit along with 5 drug cards. I received effective feedback which I applied to my last 2 H&Ps. I made minor edits to my plan section in my H&P and the rest my evaluator said was good. The format of the Pharm cards was unique because we had to handwrite them on index cards which I felt helped me remember the information on the cards more compared to when I type them up on my laptop. The last site evaluation consisted of presenting my other H&P, a journal article, and the final 5 drug cards. I presented my final H&P case on Diverticulitis. My journal article discussed whether a high-fiber diet has an impact on the reoccurrence of diverticulitis when compared to a normal diet. The study did not find any evidence showing high-fiber diet lowered the reoccurrence of diverticulitis when compared to a regular diet. Overall, I look forward to using the things I learned from this Site evaluation in my last 2 rotations and when I begin practicing as a PA.
